Esparity Solar achieves its third certificate of Excellence in Sustainability
The Valencian company has achieved this certification for one of its projects in Alicante.
Esparity Solar, a company dedicated to the promotion of solar energy projects based in Valencia, has obtained the Certificate of Excellence in Sustainability for the project called Serol, located in the Alicante municipality of Salinas and with 50MW of power.
This certificate is promoted by the Spanish Photovoltaic Union (UNEF).
Environmental measures taken
Esparity Solar said in a statement that the Serol project has environmental measures focused on the respect and conservation of biodiversity in the area. Therefore, nesting boxes, shelters for rodents and reptiles, ponds and insect hotels will be implemented.
Following this pattern, a plant strip of native species will be cultivated around the perimeter of the park as well as in the internal areas that remain available. All existing crops will be maintained, which will favour the integration of the project into the landscape. Similarly, a hunting fence with a subway will be installed to allow the transit of local fauna.
For farmers the project will ensure compatibility between existing crops and the production of green energy. In addition, it will be consistent with other land uses where the photovoltaic installation is located, thus promoting extensive livestock farming and in turn avoiding overuse of herbicides and mechanical means of weeding. The project will also have 50 apiaries, the company adds.
